PHO is a Vietnamese Noodle Soup which is generally served with a choice of beef, chicken or vegetarian. The soup includes rice noodles and is often served with fresh basil or mint leaves, fresh lime and bean sprouts.
PHO originated in the early 20th century in Northern Vietnam. It was first sold by vendors from large boxes until the first Pho restaurant opened in Hanoi in the 1920’s. PHO is listed at #28 on the World’s Most Delicious Foods compiled by “CNN Global Experiences in 2011.
